I always love painting with Picasso. There is am always something new to learn no matter how much research I do.He really loved his daughter Maya and did many paintings of her. I hope you add this one to your Mini Masters Collection.Maya, was born on September 5, 1935.
She was a constant topic in her father's sketches and paintings throughout the first ten years of her life, who watched her physical and mental development with wonder and care.Marie-Thérèse Walter, her mother, was the artist's most famous model. Picasso and Marie-Thérèse began a long-lasting love affair after meeting in 1927 at the Galeries Lafayette in Paris, which resulted in the birth of Picasso's first daughter Maya.
Picasso explored the traditional issue of maternity by chronicling personal details of their private existence together as a family. Even in the impending darkness of World War II, Maya's portraits reveal the enormous joy she brought into the artist's life. Maya was the most commonly depicted of all of Picasso's children, as a muse in the image of her mother.
These beautiful little Mini's are painted on 8 x 8 canvas covered hardwood panel (not masonite) that I have made in my studio. They will not warp and will last a lifetime. Sides are painted to match so no frame needed unless desired. Small and Collectable.
