Frida’s life was so tragic and could not be foreseen.
Maybe this was one of God’s ways to protect Frida when she was young and to give her strength for what was to come. Frida is surrounded by her favorite flower. I love to paint her with flowers. I guess because Frida once said, “I paint flowers so they will not die.” Maybe this is my way of keeping her alive.
God’s Eye
The belief in the evil eye may be traced all the way back to ancient Rome, approximately 3000 years. It is one of the most well-known symbolic images in the world. The evil eye is said to defend against jealousy and evil powers. Despite the huge cultural differences, the evil eye is worn by Mexicans, Jews, Italians, Brazilians, Greeks, Pakistanis, and Asians, and it serves the same goal of protection from evil thoughts and evil wishes. The evil eye has a magical meaning as a visual device in which the wearer silently recites a secret prayer to ward against negative energy.
